On Medical Research and Transplants!!
Well, being an Optimist, I would certainly like for the Medical Community to put aside this rather defeatist attitude of resigning the afflicted to their fate that there are No Cures available, and Work on finding Cures for the different symptoms that manifest themselves, that is the one sure way to advance the medical field, which IMHO is quite stagnant in comparison to the rapid pace of advances that the Internet boom and the Computer Technology arena have made. I am a Computer Software Professional, and in the Software domain, yes there goes the saying that for the Software produced “There is always One more Bug!” but surface a bug and the bugs do get fixed and the Software development process moves forward in great leaps and bounds. Such a defeatist attitude that you find from the Medical professionals that there is No Cure you will not find in the Software development professionals, and by God how has the Computer revolution alleviated the pace of developments in the Medical field, from the decoding of the Genomes, to speeding up the Drug Discovery processes all now possible thanks to Computers!
What have we engineers not invented and developed for these medicos? – From CT Scanners to MRI machines to now Robotics applied to Surgery!! And how do they treat us?? Like individuals who are like the Cheap gadgets … not worth repairing if broken just TRANSPLANT an Organ!!! Look at the Kidney afflictions … till today there are NO Remedies!! The medicos just let one afflicted with a Kidney condition to deteriorate all the way down to such a horrendous thing called “Dialysis” down to just transplanting the whole Kidney!!
Just the way we treat the cheap gadgets that we build at a subsidised price … not worth the cost of repairing and fixing … just throw out the kidney like a cheap gadget and transplant it! So it is with this same Don’t Fix but Replace attitude that such convoluted medical research is on-going from Stem Cells to synthesize new body parts and don’t fix but just replace with new synthesized body parts and organs … This is nothing but a DON’T fix but just replace slothful paradigm like each Human Individual is such an expendable cheap gadget!!
What the Medico’s need to come up with is a generic across the board “Paradigm for Cure” just like we Software Engineers have developed — “The Agile Methodologies” and that can then be applied to solve and cure the various afflictions. Afterall it is just ONE Human Body System that we are dealing with, and Humanity has been aound for long enough now and it is about high time these Medico’s need to understand the Human Body System Fully !!
Take Mental Illness for the other end of the spectrum — The fault is that people don’t realise that what Mental Illness is really just like the Kidney affliction … but an affliction of the Brain!!
Kidney conditions manifest with worst case Kidney transplants … so maybe the medicos will come up with the worst case scenario of the Brain Transplants for the acute mental illness only if they can come to terms that it is an illness that afflicts the Brain … and since it is the Brain which is the central controller of Human Behaviour…. hence the manifestation of this Brain Illness is in the form of Behavioural Problems … Duh Uh???

Following up on my previous Blog Post — The Crosscoupling Degeneration in Communications — an additional issue that is a Limiting Factor in attaining greater speeds in data transmission in Broadband Communications is the problem with mixing Copper based signals with the pure Fibre-Optic signals.
Well the problem of conversion of optical to electronic signals at different segments of Transmission and having segments that are Copper will be the choke segments or points that result in the reduction of speed.
The Most Optical Configuration at a Consumer’s Point of Service is the following one with the With the Copper and Fibre-optic signals properly BIFURCATED !
a) Leave the Current Copper Line as is — and on that route the Telephone Voice Calls a Pure Voice Line —
b) A Pure Fibre Data Line for the Fibre Optic Broadband — On this Route the separate High Speed Fibre Broadband — on this with pure Fibre Wiring to the last mile.
The Copper Transmission though slow is perhaps better for “Voice Signals Communications” as continuous analog signals, where the speed is of not that much consequence as the DATA Lines for high speeds in the GigaBytes range.
At the same time, currently Consumers have to pay a Line-Rental Fee for each Line !!
So a good Cost-Effective Solution to having Two Line-Rentals is to use The Composite Hybrid Cabling !
A Single Composite Copper-Fibre Cable running from the Exchange Boxes that receive the bifurcated Voice Copper Lines and Fibre-Optic Data Lines to the Last Mile !!
Using the Composite Copper-fibre cabling though a little extra — The Line Rentals could be kept a little bit above a Single Mode Line, and the additional cost amortised in the Service Contracts at the Higher Speed users.
Using composite cabling for the Last Mile in Consumer BroadBand Service Configurations is perhaps a good way to push the current Data Broadband Speed Envelope !!

So What is a Crypto Currency ?
According to Wikipedia —
A cryptocurrency (or crypto currency) is a medium of exchange using cryptography to secure the transactions and to control the creation of new units.[1] Cryptocurrencies are a subset of alternative currencies or specifically of digital currencies. The first cryptocurrency to be created wasBitcoin in 2009.[dubious ] Since then, numerous cryptocurrencies have been created. A feature that is typical in cryptocurrency is decentralized control, distinct from a centralized electronic money system such as PayPal. Another common feature is that transactions are publicly recorded in a ledger. An example is Bitcoin, where all transactions are recorded in the block chain.
As we see from the definition above, Bitcoin was the first in this experiment with Cryptocurriencies, established in 2009 so we are in the 5th significant anniversary of Bitcoin, but for the most part, Bitcoin has been a vehicle for “Currency Trading” rather that actually being used “For Trading” on the Internet !!
What these genre of cryptocurrencies are doomed to fail is because of their “Rebellious Streak” against the real world currencies control exercised by the “Central Banks”, But using a statistical measure to allow the currency to adjust itself in through the process of currency trades, is yet to be adopted in a single real world currency !!
If we are going to do the Cryptocurrency bit right, we would need to follow the tried and tested Central Banks model. It is but just a mere rebellion against the Central Bank model seems more like an anarchist trend rather than a more logical one IF the Central Banks model has been a cause for failure. It seems that this mechanism of rebellion against the Central Banks is because they do exercise and there is a need for such an Authority to control the illegalities that crop up in the system … a free flowing statistical system is not built with the Intelligence to “Police the Illegalities” and hence one of the functions is this form of control exercised by the Central Banks.
The Central Banks model has been existing through generations and generations and while a few dissent it and set off probably on the wrong path to take the initiative of the Bitcoin, in this rebellious trend … it is perhaps this reason why Bitcoin and the others have been simply lagging behind after 5 years of existence to be accepted as a Trading unit in the so prolific Internet Commerce.
Internet Commerce has blossomed like he most abundant crop that there ever was on this Planet !! and yes it is time to think about a Single Currency that could be used as a nice reflection of the real world currencies in the Cyberspace.
One really good approach would be to use the case study of how the European Union introduced the Euro as a Single Currency and got it quite efficiently to be adopted as a Major currency across first Europe and soon across the Globe. The Euro is a new Currency with the Central Bank control in the European Central Bank — ECB and even an ECB-Network. We also have the Bank of Japan Central Bank with its BOJ Network across the major regions.
In a similar vein, with the success of the Euro, while the controll-less Bitcoin is no where rivalling the success of the adoption and proliferation of the Euro. So I would not be hesitant to make the comparison and say that the Bitcoin model of a controll-less Cryptocurrency is but a Failure, and we need to re-think this implementation for the Cryptocurrencies.
Following the Euro model we need the following to adopt a successful Cryptocurrency —
1. A Central Bank Structure with a Network of branches in the major regions of the Planet — perhaps called the Internet Central Bank.
2. Introduction of a currency that is on par with the real world currencies in its operation and functioning.
3. We need to have perhaps a nice competition to choose a good name for this Internet Currency(IC).
4. This Internet Currency should have units that reflect for example £ 1, £ 5, £ 10 etc in IC 1, Ic 5 IC 10.
5. Like people convert easily as they move from a GBP traded Great Britain, to say Germany and exchange their GBPs for Euros, people should be able to free exchange their Internet Currency with the regional real world currencies.
6. Amazon and other such major Internet Shopping Sites would then be able to adopt the IC and mark their items priced in both the IC and the local currency.
7. We need a facility for people to have Bank like Internet Banks to Store and Barter the IC.
8. We need to think of a different model for execution of the IC, else it should NOT be just like another Currency just an alternative to the GBP or Dollar or Euro.
9. The benefit of the IC should be that it is one Currency for the entire Internet — Transcending Country borders across the Globe.
10. The IC should have a DIGITAL Model, and traded as a DIGITAL Unit rather than a unit like the GBP, Euro or Dollar.
These are just some first cut thoughts of getting a “Cryptocurrency” Model that is real and CAN be put into immediate adoption and get easily accepted !!
The Bitcoin and their Class of Cryptocurrencies after nearly 5 YEARS of Existence are not one bit in widespread USE .. so we can indeed realistically rule the Bitcoin model as a FAILURE to be adopted widely !!
It is because of the FAILURE of the Bitcoins from coming about into widespread acceptance and adoption in the manner of the EURO, that is the most recently introduced Multi-Country Currency Model that is a grand success !! We need to look at the lessons learned from the adoption of the Euro and further improve ont he process and implement the IC as a similar Multi-Country Currency Model.

Well What seems to be the problem with First the Simple Hard-Wired Broadband Services not ramping up in speed in sync with the evolution of Fibre-optic Technologies ?
The problem is simple — Fibre-optic technology simply entails processing in the Optical regime, where as older generation of technologies that relied on Copper Wires as the transmission media plain and simply used these copper wires and hence inherently slower by their physical realisations in copper conductors.
So what has happened is the Fibre-Optic Technology that has emerged since has not been “Thought out Well” to be implemented and fabricated at “The Systems Level” — This being a complete different Processing Domain — “Optical” it should have been foreseen that Fibre-Optic Networks needed to be fully realised and isolated or some form of iso-coupling with the Copper networks had to be designed and put into place in order to best take advantage of the “Optical Processing Speeds” — “Without This ISO-Coupling” between the Copper-Optical domains what we have ended up having is what it is now an “Hodge-Podge” of mixture and tincture of Optical-with-Copper networks that are just piggy-backing Fibre-Optic over the Copper Wires !!
Well of-course you would say that the Optical-Copper boundary already has bi-directional in a manner of A/D Converters, but the issues still seem to exist at this O/C bi-directional Converters —
1. Are these O/C bi-directional Converters developed to the extent of our well pushed to the limits A/D Converters ?
2. We need a significant more effort to develop these as a special field of expertise and evolutionary development… to be developed in the same manner as the field of A/D Converters converging to perfection…
3. Just like the A/D Converter necessity, we will face with the perpetual need for the O/C Interface, hence we need renewed efforts just focused at this O/C Conversion “Bottleneck”
4. And last but not the least and quite obvious fact is that we need to “Minimize the number of O/C Interface elements as much as possible !!
Hence Cannot stress enough for the push to develop the “Bidirectional Optics-Electrons or Optics-Copper” Conversion field !!
Similar Coupling Issue with Wireless Communications:
A similar situation seem to exist for the “Wireless” Carriers as well … we have the different Technologies as well with in the Mobile Phone space — 2G, 3G, 4G and now talks of 5G … each of these can be viewed for example, 2G == Copper Wires; 3G == Optical Processing etc. So the 2G Domain has Got to be Completely Separate from 3G with the similar ISO-Coupling and 4G again completely Separate with ISO-Coupling …
So in the Wireless Communications spectra — We have a similar mess to deal with when the Connection switches across the Technology Domains — 2G<–>3G<–>4G We need to formalise the 3G/4G Conversion Process, and refine these 3G/4G Converters !!

Need For Mobile Apps to 4G Enable 3G Devices:
On the lines of the 3G<–>4G converters, we do need the various Mobile Apps Developers to work on and develop these 4G-Enabler Apples for the older range of 3G Limited Mobile and Tablet Devices … of course we would not see the complete vanishing of all 3G Devices so soon so it is a worth-while endeavour to pursue where we should see these 4G-Enabler apps which could be implemented in various “Architectural Forms” in order to Enable the older generation of 3G Devices to respond and take advantage of the 4G Features in the Wireless Service, where the Coverage is 4G; Instead of remaining locked and suck out the 3G signal. One form for the 4-G Enabler could be in an Emulator form, just Emulate the processing of 4G features in a 3G Configuration.
Good Software Methodologies recommended for use:
1. Altassian JIRA for Task Management.
2. Agile as the Software Process.
3. Jenkins for Continuous Integration
4. Ant or Maven for Build processes take your pick or both …
5. Use Custom Build Systems for e.g. — Contact Alex Russell formerly of Thrupoint Plc.from Cardiff, and see if you can acquire from him a nice Java Based Build System that would be neat to use.

5. Who is to say that there are “Abnormal” or “Subnormal” performances in the League and just Manipulate the Whole League and then “Fiddle” with the Playing of all the matches for the rest of the Season ?
6. “Whose Concept of Manipulation is This ?”
7. “What is the Cost impact caused by such a manipulation being heaped on the Population of people just wanting to Enjoy a game of un-interfered Football”
8. Another Common Factor between QPR and Cardiff City are their owners– Tony Fernandes and Vincent Tan.
9. Both the owners are “Foreign” – plain and obvious the Psychological Malaise of this “Concept Node” is none other than “Xenophobia” but that is that part of the activity surrounding that small percentage of the “ONE Relegation”.
